DVSA has introduced regular enforcement updates to share examples of its enforcement activity and provide practical guidance on reporting safety concerns. These updates are designed to demonstrate how non-compliance is identified and addressed, helping to promote safer roads and improve awareness of legal responsibilities within the transport industry.
The updates will feature real enforcement cases that illustrate the consequences of failing to comply with regulations relating to areas such as operator licensing, driver qualifications, tachograph use and vehicle safety. By highlighting enforcement outcomes, DVSA aims to show the action it can take where serious breaches are identified.
Alongside enforcement case studies, the updates will provide advice on reporting concerns about drivers or operators who may be breaking safety rules. This includes issues such as breaches of drivers’ hours regulations, vehicle roadworthiness concerns, overloading, emission cheat devices and the unauthorised transport of hazardous goods.
DVSA will review reports received and determine what action, if any, is required.
